Color vibration occurs when two colors have similar lightness but high chromatic contrast. Artists of the psychedelic '60s used this effect to create a sense of movement, allowing still images to pulse with energy!

Creatives often attempt to emulate this effect by tediously adjusting RGB colors until they appear to vibrate. A better way to experience vibrating colors is to offset chroma in the perceptually uniform Oklab color space.
